Rachel Dawn Freeman became a Christian at the age of 7 and was baptized a few months later. She was a member of Graceway Baptist Church. Her education began by being home-schooled and as a freshman she attended Community Christian School in Norman, OK. She transferred to Moore High School as a sophomore. Rachel loved life and loved people. She thrived on connecting with others. She always had a smile on her face and was always encouraging others. She was very athletic. For several years she studied Tae Kwon Do, and competed on the tournament team of KICS Karate Academy. She won at least one trophy at almost every tournament in which she competed in her state in her division. She worked hard and eventually earned her 2nd-degree Brown Belt. While learning Tae Kwon Do, she developed a love for running, that she pursued the rest of her life. She routinely ran 5K races and ran on the Cross Country team while at both Community Christian School and Moore HS. She was focused, determined, and couldn’t be held down. When she was recovering from a stress fracture, which required wearing a boot and allowing her leg to heal, she would sometimes sneak off and go for a jog, leaving her boot behind! She had signed a Letter of Intent to attend Quachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia, AR, on an athletic and academic scholarship. She was looking forward to running on the Cross Country team there. Rachel loved children and working with children.
