I was only honored to have Shannon in my life for just short of 3 years. It took a couple of months for me to understand her, but when I finally got it, she was my daughter! We didn’t have that much in common, she loves to shop, I hate that. She hates make up and high heels, I love it. But we were friends.
Shannon lived to help people. It didn’t matter if she knew them or not, if she saw someone in need, she was there.
Once she felt comfortable, her sense of humor was insane. I fell for so many of her jokes. But I also knew when I needed help, she would drop everything to be there. I still cherish the memory of her asking if she could call us Mom and Dad. I hope she knew, I couldn’t have loved her more if she had been my actual daughter.
